Earlier this year, RigCLOUD® teamed up with KCF Technologies to bring AI-based predictive maintenance technology to drilling contractors.
Integrating KCF’s SMARTdiagnostics software into the RigCLOUD digital drilling platform allows customers to bring data from wireless machine sensors into the open cloud system. This enables 24/7 remote monitoring and support and establishes a platform to drive standard operating procedures and training.
Recent Results
Following a five-month pilot trail across four Nabors® rigs in South and West Texas, the combined RigCLOUD platform and KCF AI-technology system helped Nabors avoid more than $320,000 in equipment cost and lessen the rig’s downtime.
Ninety-six sensors were installed to monitor mud pump vibrations, which proactively predicted two potential power end failures through the trial.
